I love me a fun, different prop. When I saw this pink scooter, I knew it would make an awesome prop. of course, I first envisioned my own girls but then thought it could be a fun set up for clients as well. I didn’t realize that the age range to ride them was for the tween/teen set. My girls are too young, although we did let Zoe ride it on the sidewalk at home and she did great! Piper….well, she crashed in the garage. Don’t worry, she moved about an inch and didn’t get hurt. Or cause any damage to the scooter or the garage! So riding them is off the table, but taking pictures on them is definitely not! I really wanted a cool wall or something with draping flowers. Sadly, what i was picturing in my head was really a location in Greece and we just don’t have that here on Long Island. I wracked my brain for weeks trying to find the perfect location. I settled on this cool spot that I’ve shoot on a few times before because I love the rocks and overgrown grasses. It also gets great sunsets. In our annual tradition, we shot these on the first day of school and this year we invited along a friend to join us. I styled the girls in matching, vibrant swimsuits and paired them with denim jackets, for a cool, carefree vibe. I also used bohemian cover-ups we had that I knew would add a funky air about them. It turned out to be a weird, hazy, overcast, but still sunny, windy evening with gorgeous light. It was kind of perfect! My girls had fun posing alone and together and especially with their friend Hadley. And the last picture in this set is blown up and hanging in my house, right at the landing of the stairs so I pass it everyday, multiple times a day! it makes me smile every time I see it! If you want to book one of these sessions, which I think are great for girls ages 5-16 and would be perfect alone, with sisters or best friends, you can book through the shop here. I think this scooter could look cool in a multitude of locations besides the beach and can be accessorized in fun ways!
If you are interested in booking a session, contact me firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d to hear about your vision and make it a reality.
Peanut and Pip Photography is a Long Island based, natural-light, on-location photographer. We also love to travel and service all of New York City and the tri-sate area. Our style is classic and timeless, with a bit of whimsy. Our goal is to preserve this moment in time. We strive to capture the magic and wonder of childhood, the dreams of teens and seniors and the love between families with beautiful, breathtaking and timeless portraits. Every session is customized to you and your family. My works stands out because it is a collaborative effort between my clients and me. I find a way to integrate both of our visions. I often joke that I have crazy ideas, but my clients always trust my vision because they know they will get something unique in the end. I don’t see the world the way everyone else does and that is reflected in the art I create. My ability to create on the spur of the monument is part of my magic. While I always have my go-to locations, I rarely shoot them the same way each time I go there. I get bored of the same things very easily and no two sessions are ever the same, even when shot at the same locations.
