Sweet Land Of Liberty (+ a Giveaway!)

I don’t go crazy decorating my house for every little holiday. I don’t wear holiday themed clothing. But for some reason, I really get a kick out of making sure Zoe is all holiday-themed out! Poor kid. Anyway, this year for July 4th, I wanted to get her a cute madras dress I saw in a catalog a few months ago. But being the huge procrastinator I am, I waiting until June to order the dress (like that’s really that late???) and they were sold out of her size. And then Whimsical Dragonfly came to the rescue and made Zoe the most perfect July 4th madras dress! Renee, the sole designer and dress-maker behind Whimsical Dragonfly, also sent us a really cool skirt!

I quickly set up an impromptu photo shoot in the back yard with some little July 4th themed props I had picked up, and a very over-tired Zoe had some fun, while I got to take some great pictures!

How cute is she with the headband? If only she had kept it on the whole time…:

I love the details of this dress and couldn’t stop taking pictures of them:

Our next-door neighbor was out trimming her hedges and saw our little set up and offered up the perfect pinwheel:

I love the way this dress ties in the back:

Thanks to the humidity, Zoe’s pigtails were super curly and looked little fireworks:

Zoe was so comfortable in this dress:

I love how she lifts up the skirt and walks around…she seriously cracks me up:

Some more details:

On the right is Zoe’s Zombie impersonation:

Next we did a quick outfit change and got Zoe into the cutest July 4th skirt. I paired it with a pettiskirt I made underneath:

The cutest part of this skirt by far is the little cinching and the rosette! How cute is that???:

Can’t beat straws with streamers:

Zoe really enjoyed playing with all the props:

Zoe acting like the silly goose she is:

And I’ll end with one of her newest “poses” she’s likes to do:

And now for the giveaway! Renee has agreed to giveaway the adorable skirt! The skirt is a 2T, but would easily fit a taller girl that’s on the the thinner side. (Zoe usually wears a 2T and the skirt is a little long on her and she’s tall!) This is going to be a quick one, if you want it by July 4th (which means I have to make sure you get it in Saturday’s mail!) All you have to do is go to Whimsical Dragonfly‘s Facebook page and become a fan, as well as becoming a fan of Jennifer Beitchman Photography‘s page and post a comment below telling me you liked us both. I’ll pick a winner Thursday, June 30th. If its you, email me right away with your address so I can get you the skirt! Good luck and have a safe Fourth of July!
