The Reimels’ Family

A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of photographing my good friends Cathy & Chris and their two gorgeous sons, Chris & Collin. Little Chris is three and baby Collin was born about 6 weeks after Zoe. Cathy was another one of friends who was pregnant at the same time I was. I was quite shocked when I told her I was pregnant and she said, “me too!” Cathy & I used to work together many years ago. She is a an awesome graphic designer and I spent countless hours sitting in the art department, chatting about life with her. We had so much in common and similar styles and tastes. I’ll never forget that we bought our houses at roughly the same times and we would spend lots of time discussing and selecting paint colors. (This was before I went back to school for Interior Design, but it was brewing inside me!)

Everything about this shoot was perfect: Great friends + great light + great food + great wine = AMAZING NIGHT!

We decided that doing the shoot on their boat would be a great idea, especially with it being the end of summer and the light at their dock at sunset was sublime. But first Cathy wanted to start the shoot off in the yard with some pictures of their adorable dog, Luke. Their yard is gorgeously landscaped and beautifully shaded and I seriously could have done the whole shoot there because the light was simply divine. of course getting everyone to look at the camera was a bit of a challenge, but with the adorable Collin touching Luke’s nose, who cares:

The light was just too perfect:

Ok seriously, look at this kid’s eyes. Could you just die????:

I was loving the tall grasses on either side of the deck stairs, so I suggested a few shots there as well and miraculously, everyone is looking at the camera:

Next we headed over to the boat and I was so excited to see the light there. A few days earlier, Cathy had snapped a shot with her camera phone and posted it to Facebook, so I knew what was awaiting me.

Loving this series of Big & Little Chris:

Time for some family shots:

I love how Little Chris is holding baby brother Collin’s hand:

This picture reminds me of a Ralph Lauren ad and how freaking cute is Collin in this picture:

These two boys have inherited the most.amazing.eyes.ever:

I want jewels the color of Collin’s eyes:

Next we went across the street to the beach and the sun was just about set and it was just perfect:

Lovelovelove this shot of Chris and Collin:

Can we talk about that sky????:

Seriously, I want to marry that sky and have its babies. And how cute are Cathy and “her little buddy” Chris?:
