Bethany | New York Senior Photographer

Senior photography is a huge market across this county. But for some reason, not here in the New York metropolitan area. So whenever I get the opportunity to do senior sessions, its because clients have traveled from other part of the country to NYC and want portraits taken in our great city. I have had clients form North Dakota, Missouri and several from Texas. Senior photography is huge is Texas! I did have 2 clients that lived in NJ and 1 in NY, but they were both originally form Texas! ironically, I have never even been to Texas! Every single one of these seniors have been a dream to spend time with (as well as their moms who always accompany  them and are often here for a girl’s week/weekend!) I love finding ways to sprinkle their personalities into their sessions, especially because they are no where near home!

Bethany’s mom is a teacher and one of her students was another client of mine, Sarah, and she kept my information for 2 years, waiting until her daughter was a senior to bring her to NYC specifically to have me take her pictures! How amazing is that! She loved Sarah’s pictures we took on the Brooklyn Bridge, so we started Bethany’s session there too. But when she told me Bethany was a HUGE Gossip Girl fan, I knew we had to venture in Manhattan at take some pictures at the Lotte New York Palace building, as the exterior was used for Serena’s residence.

But before we headed into Manhattan, we walked over to Jane’s Carousel, as I love using it as a backdrop. I was surprised to see the lights on, as we were there shortly after sunrise. Then I realized there was a maintenance worker inside. We asked if we could take a few pictures inside. He told us it would cost us $20 and I’m pretty sure that was the best $20 a client ever spent. I was in photographer’s heaven, having the entire carousel to ourselves for a few minutes. We also borrowed a random man’s puppy for a few pictures, I got to show off my incredible parallel parking skills, stood in the middle of busy NYC streets and visited the Bryant Park holiday village. It was a great session with a beautiful and sweet girl and her amazing mama!  NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot NYC senior photo shoot

If you are interested in booking a session, go to shop.peanutpip.com or contact me info@peanutpip.com. I’d to hear about your vision and make it a reality.

Peanut and Pip Photography is a Long Island based, natural-light, on-location photographer. We also love to travel and service all of New York City and the tri-sate area. Our style is classic and timeless, with a bit of whimsy. Our goal is to preserve this moment in time. We strive to capture the magic and wonder of childhood, the dreams of teens and seniors and the love between families with beautiful, breathtaking and timeless portraits. Every session is customized to you and your family. My works stands out because it is a collaborative effort between my clients and me. I find a way to integrate both of our visions. I often joke that I have crazy ideas, but my clients always trust my vision because they know they will get something unique in the end. I don’t see the world the way everyone else does and that is reflected in the art I create. My ability to create on the spur of the monument is part of my magic. While I always have my go-to locations, I rarely shoot them the same way each time I go there. I get bored of the same things very easily and no two sessions are ever the same, even when shot at the same locations.
