Kaitlyn is an amazing dancer. Like, incredible. Awe-inspiring. Jaw-dropping. Breathtaking. Beyond talented. I think you get the idea, right? When her mom reached out about doing a session showing off some of her gravity-defying moves, I was super stoked. I don’t get to shoot dancers often (or ever) and I really truly love the the art form. Seeing what dancers can make their bodies do in what seems effortless is just really enchanting to me. As an artist, I really appreciate all forms of art and expression. I could never do what dancers do and that is what makes me want to capture them doing what they can do even more. Kaitlyn is an award-winning competitive dancer and she passion is undeniable. Watching her accomplish moves with ease and perfection over and over again was truly engrossing.
For her styling, I wanted to have a lot of movement in her dresses to really highlight her positions. The floral dresses I had in my studio wardrobe were perfect for this session and the yellow dress’ slit was the exact right dress for her leaps. I also loved getting to photographer in her leotard, as it showed off her muscles and perfect form just right. I really hope to capture more dancers in the future, so if you are a dancer or have a child that is a dancer, please book a session!!!
If you are interested in booking a session, contact me email@example.com. I’d to hear about your vision and make it a reality.
Peanut and Pip Photography is a Long Island based, natural-light, on-location photographer. We also love to travel and service all of New York City and the tri-sate area. Our style is classic and timeless, with a bit of whimsy. Our goal is to preserve this moment in time. We strive to capture the magic and wonder of childhood, the dreams of teens and seniors and the love between families with beautiful, breathtaking and timeless portraits. Every session is customized to you and your family. My works stands out because it is a collaborative effort between my clients and me. I find a way to integrate both of our visions. I often joke that I have crazy ideas, but my clients always trust my vision because they know they will get something unique in the end. I don’t see the world the way everyone else does and that is reflected in the art I create. My ability to create on the spur of the monument is part of my magic. While I always have my go-to locations, I rarely shoot them the same way each time I go there. I get bored of the same things very easily and no two sessions are ever the same, even when shot at the same locations.
