Brothers in Montauk | Montauk Children’s Photographer

Montauk is The End. Its the eastern most point on the south shore on Long Island. Technically its part of the Hamptons, but Montauk has its own unique vibe. Its way more laid back than “The Hamptons” and is more of a surf town. Its a lot more casual than the other Hamptons, yet still beautiful and sophisticated. For the past 5 years, we have gone there every summer. We always stay in a different place. We’ve AirBNB’d, stayed at the famous Montauk Manor, rented a house with my in-laws, and stayed at some of the hotels in town. Staying in the town is great because we can walk to the beach and the town. We’ve never had a bad meal in Montauk and love trying new places and visiting our favorites. We buy sweatshirts every year and I have amassed quite a collection! This family tradition is extremely special to us, as my husband and his sister grew up visiting Montauk as kids and my mother-in-law had a second home there in her childhood, as her father owned a restaurant there. What was The Flying Fish, is now Rick’s Crabby Cowboy Cafe (and some place we absolutely must visit every time we go to out there! We highly recommend the corn fritters!) So to now bring this tradition to our own girls, has been something really special to all of us. I’m also not sure who looks more forward to our annual trip; the adults or the kids! We have so many great memories and we love creating new ones every year.

So when my local client saw the MTK sticker on my car, she asked if we frequent Montauk. We then realized its super special for both our families and she said she’d love to coordinate our visits the following summer and fit in a session. I was so thrilled when we realized we’d be there the same time and set up a session for her boys. I scouted out locations, looking for quintessential Montauk and anything off the beaten path. I stumbled upon a little spot on the lake and it turned out to be right by her parents’ house! We had a gorgeous night with a perfect Montauk sunset for a session with her two boys who are sweet as could be. I laughed the entire time and loved everything about their session. And we discovered a little boat on the shore, I knew we were int he right spot!

Today we set off for our annual family trip, staying at yet another new place, right on the beach and figured it was the perfect time to share this special session.

Peanut and Pip Photography is a Long Island based, natural-light, on-location photographer. We also love to travel and service all of New York City and the tri-sate area. Our style is classic and timeless, with a bit of whimsy. Our goal is to preserve this moment in time. We strive to capture the magic and wonder of childhood, the dreams of teens and seniors and the love between families with beautiful, breathtaking and timeless portraits. Every session is customized to you and your family. My works stands out because it is a collaborative effort between my clients and me. I find a way to integrate both of our visions. I often joke that I have crazy ideas, but my clients always trust my vision because they know they will get something unique in the end. I don’t see the world the way everyone else does and that is reflected in the art I create. My ability to create on the spur of the monument is part of my magic. While I always have my go-to locations, I rarely shoot them the same way each time I go there. I get bored of the same things very easily and no two sessions are ever the same, even when shot at the same locations.
