Three beauties + a stunning sunset | long island family photographer

When my friend Kara contacted me about doing a last minute photo session fro her daughter’s, I was so glad I was available. I’ve seen how stunning they were on Facebook, but knowing Kara, I knew they’d be sweet too. See, I’ve known Kara since elementary school.  She was always one of the nicest people I’ve ever known. Her and her family live out of state now, but she was going to be visiting her family, most of whom still live on Long Island. After we messaged about the session, she then asked if we could change the session to include her nieces and nephews, as a gift to her mom. So we wound up doing two session, back-to-back. First we did the cousins, her mom and sister and brother’s families and then we did a session of just her and her girls.

We were SO lucky we had an insanely gorgeous day the day of the sessions. It was warm, but not humid (a rarity for Long Island summers) and we had beautiful skies during the big family session and one of the most incredible sunsets I’ve ever seen in my life during her and her daughters’ part of the session! And I was right, Kara’s daughters were two of the smartest, most beautiful, sweetest and funniest girls I have met in a long time. I had so much fun hanging out with them and getting to know them. And best of all, I got to re-connect and catch up with an old friend. I love how this job brings people back into my life over and over again.

I loved that both of these girls were completely comfortable in front of the camera. They were excellent models:

They love each other and have so much fun together: I was SO happy when they said they wanted to go in the water! And they offered before I even had to ask. Perfection: Meri’s little leg kick is awesome: Some random men fishing suddenly asked Allie to reel in a fish he’d caught. So glad I got this!: Allie, 11, and gorgeous: We decided to trek down the beach a little and as we did, the sun started peaking through the stormy clouds that rolled in. As Kara decided to jump into a few pictures, this sunset appeared before my eyes (or lens, if you will) and I was internally jumping up and down like a school girl! I mean, come on, have you ever???: The sunset stuck around long enough to get some really beautiful images: Did I mention that Meri is a complete goof-ball? She made me laugh so much. I loved her personality. These were her supermodel poses: I’ve never been to Hawaii, but this picture makes me feel like I’m there:
