Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday

I cannot believe another year has passed and my Zoe Olivia is TWO today!!!! Its amazing to me that she is 2 when I feel like the past 2 years have flown by. Before she was born, I couldn’t have imagined how my life would change and here I am 7 months pregnant with my 2nd daughter! Zoe has grown into the most amazing little girl. She is smart, funny, silly, sweet, kind, and loving. Her positive traits far outweigh any negative traits she may have. She is easy going and overall a pleasure to be around. She loves to help and be involved in everything we do. She is an extremely fast learner and talks amazingly well. She loves to sing and dance and is really one of the happiest little girls I have ever met. I always say she has that “It Factor”, because everywhere she goes, she is the center of attention. In big crowded stores and small stores alike, people gravitate to her. And she takes the attention so graciously. She really just acts like herself and doesn’t try to put on a show. And everyone loves her pigtails! And how could they not!

For her 2 year session, it was somewhat unplanned and I really had no idea what I was going to do, where we were going to do it and what she was going to wear! I decided last minute to take her down to the beach, since we were having unusually warm weather. My mother decided to go down and called and said it was gorgeous so I grabbed a dress, a chair, Zoe’s favorite baby doll and away we went!

My mother said someone built some sort of “structure” and she thought Zoe might like it. Of course Zoe had to say structure, in her cute little voice and she was indeed fascinated:

She was very curious, exploring the shells and sticks but she wanted nothing to do with the feathers. She doesn’t like touching feathers:

My mom gave her some shells to dig with and she was having lots of fun picking up the sand, dumping it and “burying” her boots with sand:

Eyelashes are quickly becoming my new favorite detail to photograph and of course these are my favorite eyelashes ever:

I love that Zoe loves her “baby” and I just know she is going to make the best big sister. She had the baby walking in the sand and doing almost everything she was doing:

She wasn’t sitting in the chair much, because she really wanted to run around and play:

Then my mother found this big stick and Zoe was happy as could be playing with it:

All I could think of was Teddy Roosevelt’s “Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.” Kid, I KNOW you will go far in life:

This is about as close to an editorial shot as I’m going to get with a 2 year old. OMG! I still can’t believe Zoe is TWO:

Zoe carried that stick that was as big as she was all the back up to the boardwalk and was having way too much fun having my mom stand it up in the grooves and knocking it back down:

She really thought it was hysterical:

I tried to get her to stand in some tall grass. That wasn’t happening so I thought maybe she’s sit in her chair in the tall grass. No dice:

So there you have it: My little peanut is two. TWO!!!! Two:

Zoe, mommy and daddy love you more than you will ever know. You really are the best little girl in the whole world.
