How Beautiful She Shimmers Like A Star

Today Zoë is 18 months old. I know its not an official birthday, but I still feel like its a milestone. A year and a half old. I can’t even begin to name all the ways in which my life has changed in a year and a half. But the best part by far has been getting to be home with Zoe everyday and watching her grow and develop. She never ceases to amaze me on a daily basis. I love watching her figure out a problem or learn a new skill. Naturally we have our bad days, but they are so outnumbered by the good ones.

Poor little peanut has been suffering from a cold since Friday night and today she had to go back to the doctor due to a sudden cough. But its just a little illness. And yet, despite coughing, sneezing and a very runny nose, she has been so sweet and happy all day. Just one of the many reason I love her so much. We have finally been having some nice weather in NY and I was so happy to take advantage of the warmth and sun and do her pictures outside! And the day before, I got the most beautiful Zozobugbaby dress in the mail and it fits Zoe perfectly! The house behind us is bank-owned and the yard is completely overgrown with weeds, dandelions and some grass. So we literally hopped the fence and did her shoot there! Of course, now I’m wondering if all the dandelions are what caused her reaction today, but hey, suffer for our art, right?

Lovelovelove this shot:

Zoe sometimes has texture issues and was reluctant to hold the dandelions at first, but she eventually got over it:

Here she is blowing on the dandelions:

She didn’t love walking alone through the weeds and grass, but she did cooperate a little:

A cute little outtake:

Arm up for balance:

Zoe was sitting on the chair and suddenly spun around. I dashed over and caught this adorable sequence:

I changed her into this sublime dress from Joyfolie, but she was very overdue for a nap and wasn’t very happy at this point. But the dress looked so dang cute on her:

My sweet little girl:

Happy 18 months, my dear Zoë Olivia. Can’t wait for another 18 years, which I’m sure will be here before I blink.
